The Quran programme

From reading the letters correctly to memorising with Tajweed — at the student’s own pace, with one teacher who knows exactly where they are.

Who it is for

Children from around five years old, teenagers, and adults — including complete beginners who have never read Arabic script, and students who read fluently and want to memorise. Male and female teachers are available, and the student keeps the same teacher so progress is continuous.

The four stages

1

Reading the letters

Using Al-Qaida Al-Nooraniyah (Baghdadiyah) or Nour al-Bayan: the letters, their sounds, the vowel marks, and joining letters into words. Adults follow the same foundation at a faster pace.

2

Reading from the Mus’haf

Moving from the primer to the Quran itself, starting with the short Surahs, until the student can read a page without help.

3

Recitation with Tajweed

The rules of Tajweed taught as they appear in what the student is reading, not as abstract theory — elongation, merging, the characteristics of the letters, and stopping correctly.

4

Memorisation and revision

A set portion each lesson, recited back the following lesson, with a fixed weekly revision of everything memorised so far. Younger children learn by repetition after the teacher (talqeen).

Books and methods we use

Certificates

The academy issues a certificate when a student completes a Juz’ or a defined stage of the programme. These certificates are issued by BARAKKA LLC on the basis of our own assessment; they are a record of the student’s achievement with us and carry no external accreditation.

A note on Ijazah. Students who reach a high standard of memorisation and recitation may ask about an Ijazah with a connected chain of narration. Whether it can be offered depends on the teachers qualified to grant it at that time — ask us and we will tell you honestly what is available rather than promise it in advance.

Lesson length

Thirty minutes suits most young children and beginners. Sixty minutes is usually better for memorisation students and adults. You can change the length or the number of lessons per week at any time — see pricing.
